**Gopalkrishna Deshpande** (born 7 October 1983) is an acclaimed Indian actor who works predominantly in Kannada cinema and theatre. Recognized for his remarkable range, grounded performances, and subtle menace, he has established himself as one of the most reliable and sought-after character actors in contemporary Sandalwood. Hailing from Hunagunda in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka, Gopalkrishna developed a deep connection to the performing arts early in life. His father, Dhruvraj Deshpande, was an alumnus and acting teacher at the renowned Ninasam theatre troupe and had founded his own troupe, Durvaranga.
